Why The Plan That Worked For Her Isn't Working For You (And The Simple Test That Ends The Guessing)

Stride's Optimal DNA & Methylation test, run through a UK lab: 110 genes, around 45 reports, and a call with one of their experts. Then I read it myself and build your year with my own tools: training mapped to the seasons, nutrition recommendations, supplement stack, recovery rhythms, and a personal daily ledger.

Warning: This is for the woman who wants to stop wasting money on endless programmes, supplements and diets. DNA isn't destiny, but it is data. It's data we can use to build a complete system specifically for you and your goals. It's not cheap, but neither is carrying on the way you are.

Dear Friend,

If you've done everything you were told, exactly as outlined, but your body just isn't responding the way it should, keep reading; I'm about to explain why, and what you can do instead.

First - answer the following as honestly as you can:

  1. How many training plans have you followed to the letter in the last five years?
  2. How many of them were written for you, rather than for a woman roughly your age who wants roughly the same thing?
  3. And how many supplements are in your cupboard right now because somebody on the internet said they changed her life?

If the answers were "lots", "none" and "too many", stay with me.

You're Not Failing The Plan - The Plan Just Isn't Yours.

Every off-the-shelf programme is built for an average body. A sensible, middle-of-the-road woman who recovers at an average rate, responds to volume in an average way, sleeps averagely, and metabolises her coffee like everyone else does.

You and I both know the 'average' woman doesn't exist. You're definitely not average.

But acting like you are is why you're stuck spinning your wheels, rather than hitting your health and fitness goals.

It's a vicious cycle that burns all the more because you try so damn hard.

You follow the plan, even when it grinds you down, leaves you flat and wrecks your sleep. You buy the supplements your friends can't live without, even though they do nothing for you. And you try keto again, because perhaps more bacon really is the answer. (It's not - I wish it was.)

And because you're disciplined, you assume the problem is you. So the answer must be to train harder, eat cleaner, add another newfangled supplement.

Or bin it all off and start again with a new plan the latest 20 year old influenza swears by.

It's the same mistake I've been writing about for years; systems work but sequence is the variable. We have to get the order right and take the right step at the right time.

Every plan you've followed up to now has started at step two, with the programme, completely skipping step one: finding out what your body needs.

The tools and training weren't wrong; they were wrong for you, and you had no way of knowing what would actually work.

Read The Blueprint First. Then Build.

Nobody builds a house without the plans, but that's exactly what generic training is: a builder turning up with a bag of bricks and hoping for the best.

Dangerous DNA works the other way round. First we get the blueprints, then we map the year, and finally, the day.

The blueprint is your DNA plus everything you tell me about your life, your history, your injuries and what you actually want.

The year is your training, built for your goals and mapped to the seasons, because your body doesn't run the same programme in January as it does in July. Seasonal governance adds another layer of depth that standard programmes don't factor in - we do.

The day is your ledger. An interactive page shaped to your day: the sessions, the fuel, the supplements, and any other actions you need to take. You open it, follow it and tick it off.

This works for three reasons:

One. Your genes influence things that matter for training and recovery: how you respond to different kinds of stress, how you handle caffeine, how your body processes certain nutrients, how you sleep and handle stress, your methylation pathways. All of it is data, and data beats guessing.

Two. A programme that ignores the seasons fights millions of years of biology. That's the whole premise of The Shield, applied to your training.

Three. Plans fail when they leave room for guessing and questioning what you should do next. The ledger removes all of that. You follow it knowing it's been built exactly for you.

You stop guessing, you stop paying for things that don't work for your body, and you get a complete map to follow.

Which is exactly what this letter is about.

"Dangerous DNA"

Before you read another word, a quick warning.

This isn't a test kit with a PDF. It isn't a template with your name on it. It's a build. I read your results myself, I build your year with my own tools and frameworks, and I don't start until I know everything I need to know about you. That's why there are only three spaces available each month. If you want something generic, this isn't it.

Everything You Get, And The Order It Happens In

  1. A detailed onboarding form. Your goals, your training history, your injuries, your sleep, your schedule, your kit, your life. Everything I need to know before I build anything.
  2. Stride's Optimal DNA & Methylation test. Their most complete DNA test, paid for by me and sent straight to your door. A saliva sample analysed in their UK lab looks at 110 genes, then gives detailed reports covering your methylation, nutrition, fitness, sleep and stress, and skin.
  3. A call with one of Stride's experts. They take you through your results so you understand what you're looking at, not just what it says.
  4. My assessment. Then I go through your reports myself, alongside your onboarding form, and work out what they mean for how you should train, fuel and recover.
  5. A custom year-long training programme. Built for your goals, and mapped to the seasons. Twelve months, laid out in blocks, with tracking sheets and substitutions should you need them.
  6. Basic nutrition recommendations. The foundations of how to fuel your year, informed by your results and your goals: what to build your plate around, and how your eating shifts with the seasons and the training. This is not a 'diet' - it's how you can best fuel yourself to support your goals.
  7. A supplement stack recommendation. Cross-referenced against what Stride recommends for you. What to take, when to take it, and what you can stop wasting money on.
  8. Recovery rhythms. Recovery protocols mapped using your sleep and stress reports: the daily, weekly and seasonal rhythms that keep your capacity up and support your goals.
  9. Your personal daily ledger. The whole year, distilled into what today asks of you. More on this below, because it's the part you'll use every day.
  10. One round of adjustments. Once your year is delivered, you've got 30 days to email me with anything that needs changing: the session that doesn't fit, the block that needs moving, the kit you forgot to mention. I'll make one round of adjustments, and then the year is yours to run.

The Ledger: One Page, Every Day, No Thinking Required

I'll show you mine, because I live by it.

The top of The Wolf's Ledger: the crest, the title, The Forge box and the Monday and Tuesday cards
The Wolf's Ledger. Mine, as I use it.

Mine's called The Wolf's Ledger. Every morning I open it and it tells me what the day asks of me.

The Forge shows my two gym sessions for the week, and which ones I've done. Each day has its own card and its trials for the day: the movement practice, the deep work, the training. The Horary Path lays the day out hour by hour, so I know what each block of time is for before it starts. And The Alchemist's Table is the fuel and the supplements.

Underneath it all sits a short list of rules I don't break, written for my body specifically. Things like "after a bad night, stop the main lift one step early."

At the end of the week I wipe it and start a new one. That's it.

It sounds simple because it is. The thinking was all done when it was built, so what's left is the doing.

Yours is built the same way, from your DNA, onboarding form and goals.

And yes, yours will be themed like mine. Mine's a wolf with a forge and an alchemist's table because I'm a Witcher geek. Yours gets a theme of your choosing, because a little novelty goes a long way.

Some Of What Your DNA Can Tell You

  • Your stress profile and how you manage it best
  • The kind of training your body is more likely to respond to
  • Whether you're a warrior or a strategist and how to harness that to your advantage
  • What your caffeine result means for your training and sleep
  • What your methylation results say about the B vitamins in your cupboard, and why the form can matter as much as the dose
  • Which supplements are worth your money
  • Your sleep chronotype and what that means for when you train and when you switch off
  • How long your body actually needs between hard sessions
  • What to push in summer, what to protect in winter, and why the same week of training shouldn't happen in both.

And because the Optimal test covers it, you'll get your skin reports too. I don't build anything around those, but they're yours.

Quick one, because you're probably thinking it already:
Can't I just upload my report to AI and ask it for a programme?

Yes, you can. And I'll be straight with you, because I use AI to put this all together in a fancy ledger you can actually use; I'm not going to pretend I hand-write twelve months of sessions with a fountain pen and send it via carrier pigeon (although that would be very cool).

The difference is what it's working from, and who's steering it. A chatbot gets your report and nothing else, so it'll take the report at face value, ignore the injury you forgot to mention, build you a year without any knowledge of seasonal governance or nervous system capacity, and recommend whatever it thinks you'll like the most, because AI's job is to please you.

My job is to give you something that works, which is why my tools are built by me, on my frameworks, and loaded with my 22+ years of knowledge and experience that crapgpt will never have. It's me reading your results and making the calls about what matters and what doesn't. That's why it's fast, and that's why it's yours.

I Did It To Myself First

Celeste deadlifting in her home gym
Doing dangerous stuff in the Dangerous Gym.

I'll tell you why I trust this first hand...

I was doing everything right; training properly, Mediterranean diet, sleep practices - you can imagine how dialled in things were given my experience and qualifications.

Yet I was still running on empty. Tired all the time. Mind-numbing migraines. Crazy monthly cycles. And zero drive for anything.

So I ran my DNA.

The first thing it showed me was COMT TT. In a nutshell, it means my body clears dopamine and oestrogen slowly. The upside is having a high stress tolerance, and slow adrenaline release so I don't panic when things go wrong. But the downside is that stress doesn't clear well. It builds up quietly, until it shows up somewhere.

If you're the calm one in every crisis - the one everyone else leans on - that might sound familiar.

The second thing was my methylation. Variants across the pathway: MTRR, MTR, FUT2, PEMT, MTHFD1. Some of the processes my body runs on B vitamins don't run as well as they should, which was likely contributing to the fatigue.

And then the small stuff turned out not to be small; high caffeine sensitivity and naturally a night owl. Which is why the 5am sessions and the afternoon coffee never did me any favours, no matter how disciplined I was about them.

Because none of it was a lack of discipline; it's all wiring. I'd been running a clever plan wired for someone else's body. So I rebuilt it around mine.

I've built the same for a dozen women in a private coaching group. They reported more energy, better sleep and more drive.

So that's what I'm building for you.

I've been training for twenty-two+ years. I'm a black belt with seventeen+ years coaching experience. Level 3 personal trainer. Nutrition certified. Master Health Coach. A foundation degree in science. And I've built an entire System around nervous system capacity. I train off my own ledger every day and I can honestly say in 22 years I've never had anything this good.

I'm not selling you something I read about - I'm selling you the thing I use.

What A Year Built For You Can Look Like

It's February, the month you usually give up. No resolution this year, because you didn't need one. You open your ledger and it says this is a lighter block - on purpose - and it tells you exactly what today's session is. You follow it, step by step, tracking your progress as you go.

After that you hit the kitchen, where your cupboards have fewer supplements than they used to, and the ones you do have are there because they work. You know the shape of your day, and why you're doing what you do, when you're doing it.

There's no confusion or questions. You know what to do and you do it, in a way that matches what your DNA dictates.

Why It's Only Three Spaces A Month

I read every set of results myself - it's around 45 reports. I go through the onboarding forms, I read your Stride expert transcript and I map everything out based on all the data. I build the ledger, page by page, and check it all works. And then I'm there for an entire 30 days afterwards should you need me to adjust anything.

It takes a lot of time, focus and attention, which is why I can only commit to three of these builds a month. If the month's spaces are full, you go on the list for the following month, so don't be surprised if you see a waitlist button at the bottom of this page. If not, you're in luck.

Why You'll Probably Keep Guessing Anyway

By this point you're probably tempted, but you know this isn't going to be cheap so you'll probably close this and try one more plan.

Because that pattern is familiar, and familiar feels safe even when it isn't working. I always say your brain prefers the comfort of misery, because it's true.

Finding out what your body actually needs comes with a level of uncertainty, and it might mean letting go of things you've thought to be true about yourself for a long time.

But letting go is necessary if you want to move forward.

So here's the deal...

Dangerous DNA Is £500 With No Refunds.

£500

Spread across the year it works out to about £1.37 a day. Under £42 a month - less than your personal trainer, I suspect.

Why that price? Because although I do the building, it's on you to execute. I won't be there to check you've bought the right supplements, done your food shopping and actually been to the gym. All of that's on you. Plus my tools allow me to get this to you faster than an old-fashioned handwritten version in a notebook.

Put this next to what you've already spent; the supplements you've tried, the plans you've bought and abandoned, the classes you've attended. I bet this is significantly less.

A single PT session can cost as much as a month of this, and if we're honest, those sessions are probably the same as the ones the person before you had.

The test alone is £319 RRP if you buy it from Stride. Everything I build around it is the other £181.

This is the test, every report, the expert call, my assessment, a full year of training mapped to the seasons, your nutrition recommendations, your supplement stack, your recovery rhythms, your themed daily ledger, and one round of adjustments from me.

When you weigh up what years of training, supplementing and eating for someone else's body has cost you, and then add that up over the next few years, it becomes a no-brainer.

Why no refunds? Because the moment you sign up, I order your test and start the work. The kit can't be un-sent, the lab can't un-read your sample, and I can't un-build your year.

Please don't buy Dangerous DNA if you're:

  • Looking for a quick fix. This is a year of training that you can reuse year on year with the right tweaks.
  • Not willing to use it. The ledger works because you use it every day, not because it sits on your phone.
  • Expecting your DNA to diagnose anything. It doesn't, and I don't either - this is not medical advice.
  • Planning to cherry-pick the bits you like and ignore the rest.
  • Unwilling to be honest on the onboarding form. I can only build based on what you tell me - the better the info, the better the ledger.
  • Wanting ongoing one-to-one support. You get one round of adjustments, and then the year is yours to run. If you want more support, email me about The Dangerous Dozen.

But if you're done training off someone else's blueprint, and you want a year built for your body, laid out one day at a time, this is it.

Celeste

P.S. The ledger is the part people underestimate. A year-long programme is a document. A ledger is something you open every morning and actively tick off; it's an active process that generates momentum.

P.P.S. There are three spaces a month, and most of the three to four weeks is the kit and the lab. The sooner you take a space, post your sample and book your Stride call, the sooner your year starts.

The Questions You're About To Ask

Which DNA test is it?

Stride's Optimal DNA & Methylation test, their most complete one. 110 genes, around 45 reports across methylation, nutrition, fitness, sleep and stress, and skin, plus a one-to-one call with one of their experts.

How does the DNA test work?

I order the test for you and Stride send the kit straight to your door. You do it at home, post it back, and their UK lab analyses it. When your results are ready you get every report, and a call with one of their experts to take you through them.

How long does it take from start to finish?

Usually three to four weeks, and part of that is in your hands. Stride aim to get your kit to you within 1-2 days. You post it back, and the lab usually processes it within 10 days. Once you've had your call with their expert, I deliver your year, nutrition recommendations, supplement stack, recovery rhythms and your ledger within a week, often sooner. The sooner you post your kit and book your call, the sooner you start. If you delay doing those things, it extends the time frame.

What if this month's three spaces are gone?

You'll see a link to join the waitlist if that's the case. I'll email you when the next space is open and you can sign up then.

Do you use AI to build it?

Yes, with my own tools, built on my own frameworks. I read your reports and your onboarding form myself and make the calls. The tools make it look pretty and interactive, but the decisions and programming are mine.

Will my results look like yours?

Unlikely. I've told you mine so you can see what the reports can show, not what yours will.

What happens to my DNA data?

Your sample and results are handled by Stride under their own privacy policy, which you can read here: getstride.com/legals/privacy-policy.

I'll be able to see your reports from Stride and use them to build your plan. 30 days after your year is delivered, your reports will be deleted. You can read my privacy policy here: home.celestecurrie.com/privacy.

Is this medical advice?

No. Your DNA reports aren't a diagnosis and neither is anything I build from them. My story above is my experience, not a claim about what your genes will explain. The nutrition recommendations are general guidance, not a clinical diet; if you have a medical condition or a history of disordered eating, work with your GP or a registered dietitian. The supplement stack is a recommendation, not a prescription. Check it with your GP before you start, especially if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, taking medication, or managing a health condition. If you're dealing with migraines, painful periods or ongoing fatigue, see your GP as well; they can have causes a DNA test won't show. As with all fitness programmes, check with your GP before starting a new activity.

Do I need a gym?

No. Your year is built around the kit you've actually got and the time you've actually got. That's what the onboarding form is for.

How do the adjustments work?

Once your year is delivered, you've got 30 days to email me with anything that needs changing. I'll make one round of adjustments. After that, you keep everything - the reports, the year, the nutrition recommendations, the stack, the rhythms and the ledger - and you run it.

Can I pay in instalments?

No. It's one payment of £500, test included.

Can I join from outside the UK?

No. Dangerous DNA is UK only.

Can I get a refund?

No. Once you sign up I order your test and start the build, so there's nothing to give back.

Will it work for someone like me?

I can't answer that. What I know is that a year built for your body, from your data, gives you a far better chance than one built for somebody else's. The blueprint isn't the variable. You are. The rest is whether you open the ledger and do what it says.
